A day in the park

One Sunday we packed a picnic basket with fruits, snacks and sandwiches. Our destination was the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Downtown Tampa Bay.

We arrived early to secure a shade from one of the trees lining the walk way between the field and the playground. It was a much needed daycation. That’s what I call a random day to go somewhere I haven’t been before. We had fun, talked, relaxed, ate and walked along the waterfront.

There is something to be said when a pause is taken from the routine just to explore a part of town that promotes enjoying the outdoors. I’d like to go back soon, until then I’ll enjoy the view.

  1. Sounds like a nice day. That was the kind of things I used to do with my children. They were some good times. But life goes on.

    1. Robert thanks for sharing that with me. I bet you don’t recall that s kids we used to go to the park as well. I recall going with cousin’s Barry, Robby, Carol and Wendy. The park holds many pleasant memories for me. Take care.
